Commissioner Bob Fink I Commend you for your Honesty!

Attached you will find an article from the March 29, 2018 Clayton Tribune. I commend County Commissioner Bob Fink for his honesty by indicating the five Rabun County Commissioners sought to punish the five-member city Council Members of Clayton using SPLOST Funds. (Keep in mind, I don’t know which if any commissioners voted against withholding SPLOST funds from the City of Clayton) While it might have been the intent of the five Rabun County Commissioners to punish only the five City of Clayton council members, the fact is it was the taxpayers who reside within the City Limits of Clayton that were hurt. Furthermore, this indicates the board of commissioners action was punitive in nature, and further indicates the Rabun County Board of Commissioners used SPLOST funds as a weapon, rather than allocating SPLOST funds via the rule of law. The Commissions decision caused the City of Clayton and its taxpayers to lose approx. $2,000,000 in SPLOST funds.  (See attached SPLOST worksheet) My hope is the Rabun County Board of Commissioners will remember they were individually, elected to serve ALL taxpayers in Rabun County, this includes those taxpayers living within the limits of any city in Rabun County just as they do the unincorporated service districts of Rabun County.
